Maastricht

So here we are in Maastricht, sat in a cafe on a glorious summer afternoon.
Chris has a copy of the economist and I am watching the world go by and
writing this. In my opinion a perfect way to spend the afternoon.

In the spirit of keeping you all up to date we have just returned to
continental Europe after a three week spell in the UK.

It was great to see so many friends and family while we were back, and a
huge thanks goes to those of you who let us borrow spare rooms and floors.

We have spent the last few days working our way across Belgium and finding
some fun and interesting things along the way. Yesterday it was the largest
topiary park in the world, located in the smallest .city in the world
(They've obviously never heard of St Davids!). The only way I can describe
it is that it made me giggle! There was a 4m high elephant, life size
people and lots of animals all cut from box.

Our first stop in Belgium was equally fun. Chosen as it was on a canal we
arrived to find the most amazing boat lift and engineers heaven! Needless
to say I have a lot of photos of cogs and topiary from the last few days.
Chris says he is a bit worried that I am going to fill our garden when we
get back with painted flower pots and topiary bears. Huuuum theres an
idea.....

So from here it is on into Germany and Eastwards, into the Czech republic
and Slovakia which should be great. Time to sign off for now. Really should
go site seeing.....
